Some of my Favourite Prints of the Past Couple Months

Hey guys, as I haven't done a print of the month in a little while, I thought this week I'd just share with you all a few of the prints I'm most happy with from the past couple of months.  If you follow me on Instagram (If not why not?!) you may have seen these before. I'm going to split this post into tree sections; "Functional prints", "Projects" and "Just for fun". Functional prints Both of these prints are for the redecorating of our second room, which is currently in full swing.  We both have new desks and have converted the space where my wife's old desk was into a workspace for projects!! I will definitely do a post with photos when the room is finished, but for now I have printed a couple of items to help keep the room nice and tidy.  First we wanted to mount the Google Home Mini to the wall like we did in the bedroom, so I printed another "invisible" mount; It looks great and keeps the speaker firmly in plac...

Printer is Fixed!

Hey guys, so since last week the new extruder module from Cetus arrived and has been installed.  And good news everyone! She lives once more! It seems to be a slight redesign on the old module, with a new, more refined heater module and a new much quieter fan.  The old heater module was just wrapped in sort of a foil, whereas this new one seems to be a nice package with a rubberised cover on it. They also sent the new extruder with a nozzle installed, so I got a free nozzle out of it! So what have i printed since fixing it?  Just a few little pieces, a tiny excavator and jet plane.  I also finally finished the centurion Mech that has been waiting for it's arms since the printer broke! Starman!! Bulldog tank for Battletech Companion Cubes Tiny excavator I am now printing a MiniNuke from Fallout 4 to be used as a storage unit when it's done. I'll do a write up on it when its done and painted. I think that will do for this week....

Makercoins!

Hey guys, firstly an update on the printer... I reached out to Cetus customer support and as usual they were quick to reply and after a brief back and forth they have agreed to ship me a new extruder cable and heater module. It is so refreshing to have great customer service from a company, especially with the common belief that Chinese companies aren't as good as western ones in this regard. On that note I'd just like to say that I also have a Chinese phone (Oneplus 3T) and it has been better than any other smart phone I have had previously, including Samsung and my work iPhone. So I'd like to thank Jason and Cecilia from Cetus/Tiertime for all their help! Anyway. This week, as I'm still without a printer, I thought I would talk a bit about maker coins, what they are and why people have them. So why should you create your own?  First off creating your own makercoin from scratch is a great way to learn modelling programs.  It can be as simple or as comp...

Print of the Month April '18

Hey guys, for this months POTM I thought I'd print myself a little something to tide me over while I wait for my Tesla Model 3... It's a little supercharger for my work phone! I have to say, I've been having a few problems recently with the extruder jamming on me and I'm not sure why yet.  This meant I had to try three times before I managed to get a finished print of the white sides of the charger... One of the failed prints I'm not sure if the new filament I got has gummed up the nozzle, or if it's just time for me to get a new one (it's the same nozzle that came with my printer last year and has had around 8kg of plastic through it!). I'll keep trying to print stuff but in the meantime I will order a set of new nozzles from Cetus and see if I can get things working again. Another issue I had with the print was that I ran out of silver on the base, totally my fault, so I had to swap material half way through... The print ...
